"Earnestly I seek you." Psalm 63:1
Searching is an optional activity. When, why, and how do we search? What exactly is being sought? What are the benefits of searching? Are there any drawbacks? Can searching go awry? Many things are hidden; can all things be found? What happens when we stop seeking? Let's spend some time considering the topic of searching. Bring your Bible, your questions, and your friends, and join us at this year's Conference as we explore how these and other related ideas apply to our lives.
The Williamsburg conference was started in 1969 when Woody and Rachel Legg opened their motel at-cost for a gathering between Christmas and New Years. The original organizers emphasized scripture-reading and discussion groups. We have been using this same format for over 50 years.
In 2024 our Williamsburg location closed for renovations so we moved the conference somewhere beautiful and fun: Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Our new hotel is on the boardwalk, a few feet from the ocean. The conference room is large with floor-to-ceiling windows. The rooms are newly-renovated. There is a restaurant on site.
We enjoyed morning talks, afternoon group discussions, ultimate frisbee on the beach, walks on the boardwalk, meals at nearby restaurants, card games and boardgames, singing, and an annual polar plunge.
After a few days around the ocean, friends, and the word, we left feeling a little more refreshed, relaxed, and restored. We're already looking forward to next year. Want to join us?
